calimaero Registers, Grilles & Vents RKKI 100 Editorial Review
The RKKI Backdraft Shutter 4 Inch Inline Extractor Fan has garnered a mixed response from customers, primarily focusing on its functionality and fit within existing ductwork. Many users appreciate the shutter's effectiveness in preventing cold drafts from entering living spaces, particularly in kitchens and bathrooms. The ability to install it within a round 100mm vent duct has been highlighted as a key feature, with some users successfully achieving a snug fit by using draft proofing materials like foam tape or PVC tape. However, the product is not without its drawbacks. Several reviewers have noted issues with the diameter, claiming that while it is advertised as 100mm, it measures closer to 95mm, leading to inadequate fitting in some installations. This has caused frustration for those who have had to resort to makeshift solutions, such as duct tape, to hold it in place. Furthermore, a recurring complaint involves noise; although users found that the shutter functioned well when closing, many reported that it clattered during windy conditions, which detracted from their overall satisfaction. Overall, the RKKI Backdraft Shutter does a commendable job at minimizing backdrafts and improving indoor air comfort, but potential buyers should be aware of the fitting issues and noise concerns that may arise. **
