KORG Tuning OT120 Editorial Review

The Korg OT-120 Orchestral Tuner garners positive reception among musicians and those partaking in tuning instruments. Beginners, like the reviewer who first approached piano tuning as a self-taught endeavor, found great utility and ease-of-use in this tuner, which helped them achieve results quickly and satisfactorily. Notably, its immediacy in providing feedback on pitch accuracy, both visually via an analog needle and digitally, proves attractive to users at various skill levels. Users have reported its versatility, as it accommodates a range of instruments and supports various tuning systems. The ability to tweak pitch reference in cents and utilize both built-in and external microphones resonates with seasoned professionals who require precision in studio recordings. Many users appreciate its accuracy, often finding it to be close to strobe tuners in performance. Despite the high praise for functionality, some critiques emerged regarding the clarity of manual instructions, particularly about interpreting meter readings and suggested settings for different instrument types. The physical quality of the unit's case also received scrutiny; reviewers noted that while the tuner is effective, the case feels less robust compared to previous models, raising concerns about durability under intensive use. Overall, the Korg OT-120 is viewed as an excellent investment for both novices and skilled musicians seeking an effective, multi-functional tuning solution. **
