The Smittybilt DS31-4 Mounting Bracket is a good choice for those who want to install the Smittybilt rack or any other compatible roof rack system on their Jeep Wrangler JK or JLU models. The brackets are made of durable materials and are easy to install using the rear window hinges and the side gutter rails on the hardtop. One customer who installed the brackets and made a custom rack out of 2x4s was pleased with the result, but plans to upgrade to the Smittybilt rack in the future. Another customer mistakenly purchased the HDS-6 brackets instead of the DS31-4 and found them to be incompatible. While several customers confirmed that the DS31-4 brackets fit the hardtop of their Jeep Wrangler JK and JLU models, it is unclear if they are compatible with other roof rack systems.
