What is the Voodoo Lab Electric Guitar Hardware HEX?

The Voodoo Lab Electric Guitar Hardware HEX is a versatile pedalboard power supply designed specifically for guitarists. It is engineered to provide clean, reliable power to your effects pedals with isolated outputs to prevent noise and interference. This ensures that your tones remain pristine, allowing you to focus on your music. Many musicians use it in live performances and studio settings due to its compact size and efficiency, making it a popular choice among professionals and hobbyists alike.

How many outputs does the Voodoo Lab HEX have?

The Voodoo Lab Electric Guitar Hardware HEX features a total of 8 outputs. Each output is isolated to eliminate ground loops and power hums, focusing on delivering optimal performance for both analog and digital pedals. This versatility allows musicians to use a variety of effects in their setup without sacrificing sound quality. It's especially beneficial for those with complex pedalboards who need multiple devices to be powered simultaneously during performance.

Can the Voodoo Lab HEX power digital pedals?

Yes, the Voodoo Lab Electric Guitar Hardware HEX is designed to effectively power digital pedals. It includes outputs with different voltage options, allowing it to accommodate the specific power demands of different types of pedals, including those that require higher voltage settings. Guitarists can confidently integrate their digital effects into their rigs, knowing they will receive the necessary power to function optimally, which is essential in live and studio environments.

Is the Voodoo Lab HEX suitable for traveling musicians?

Absolutely! The Voodoo Lab Electric Guitar Hardware HEX is compact and lightweight, making it an ideal choice for traveling musicians. Many musicians appreciate its ability to fit easily into pedalboard setups without adding significant weight, thereby enhancing portability during tours or gigs. It’s perfect for players who need dependable equipment while on the go.

How does the isolated output feature work in the HEX?

The isolated output feature of the Voodoo Lab Electric Guitar Hardware HEX works by providing each pedal with its own dedicated power source. This design minimizes the risk of noise or hum by eliminating ground loops, which is common in setups with multiple pedals. This can dramatically improve overall sound quality, as each pedal operates without interference from others. Musicians can hear their sound more clearly and achieve desired effects without unwanted artifacts.

What is the power rating of the Voodoo Lab HEX?

The Voodoo Lab Electric Guitar Hardware HEX has a power rating of 500mA per output, which is ample for most guitar effects pedals on the market today. This means you can run several standard pedals or even a few more power-hungry devices simultaneously without worrying about power issues. It's essential for musicians who use multiple effects to achieve diverse tonal ranges in their performances, giving them the flexibility they need on stage.

Does the HEX come with a power cable?

Musicians utilizing keyboards, basses, or even other electric instruments can benefit from its reliable power supply. Because it is effective for a range of pedals and effects, it becomes a valuable addition to any electronic instrument setup. This versatility enhances the performance experience across different genres.

How do I set up the Voodoo Lab HEX on my pedalboard?

Voodoo Lab Footswitches & Controllers HEX Editorial Review

The Voodoo Lab Electric Guitar Hardware (HEX) is a compact solution for guitarists with limited loop needs. It features 2 loops, one with 1 send/rcv and the other with 5 send/rcv. While it may not hold a candle to other products like the Rocktron Patchmate in terms of functionality, it excels in its compactness. It works well for those who only require a specific number of outputs.
