coolerguys Case Fans Editorial Review
The Coolerguys Programmable Thermal Controlled Cooling Kits have garnered mixed feedback from customers who have implemented this solution into their setups for managing heat in electronics like DVRs and home theater systems. Customer experiences indicate that the cooling capabilities of the fan are commendable; many users express satisfaction with its whisper-quiet operation and effectiveness in significantly lowering temperatures in confined spaces. The fan stands out particularly when compared to the internal fans of devices they are meant to cool, often running more quietly while efficiently reducing the overall heat. However, the product does have notable drawbacks, particularly regarding the temperature gauge. Several customers reported that the temperature gauge malfunctioned, providing erroneous readings that rendered the control feature ineffective. In instances where the problem arose, users expressed frustration with the lack of responsive support from CoolerGuys, further discouraging potential users from relying on customer service for resolution of issues. Positioning the temperature probe correctly also seems to require a bit of trial and error, with some customers finding the included lead length limiting. Many opted for a longer probe to properly set up their cooling systems according to their needs. In summary, while the Coolerguys cooling kit excels in its quiet operation and effective cooling capability, its reliability is marred by a faulty temperature gauge and unresponsive customer service. **
