The Smiffys Spats are a flawed product with many complaints about the buttons and velcro coming off or not fitting properly. The buttons are hot glued on and the costume piece guys with velcro and is a little adjustable. Some customers found the spats to be made of cheap materials and the glue under the buttons didn't quite stick to the plastic fabric they're made of. Other criticisms include the lack of button holes and the fact that the spats did not stay together long enough to wear, and also that they don't fit a broad range of feet sizes. Some said that they are just black plastic circles glued on, completely useless and that they didn't even make it fully out of the package before the buttons fell off.
