The Maelstrom rainwater filter has proven to be an effective solution for improving water quality. The internal filters are made with 200 micron material, which keeps out larger items from the roof. However, it doesn't filter suspended particles that cause cloudiness. In 9 months of use, the filters are still in good condition. The diameter of the tubes is 4 inches, and it can handle up to 1500 sq ft of roof coverage. A new tank lid is not required as the filter can be mounted anywhere on the tank. Replacement filters are available but not sold on Amazon. Overall, the Maelstrom rainwater filter is a good investment if you're looking to improve your water quality, especially if you have a large surface area to collect rainwater from. The only downside is the lack of availability for replacement filters.
